2021 Wellness Challenge Tip#2 – Learn to Say “NO”
Why you should say NO when you mean it
It’s true that sometimes saying “no” will hurt someone else’s feelings. You may even disappoint someone you admire. But you are also fostering resentment and regret when you don’t honor yourself and your needs. Practice integrity and let your “yes” be “yes” and your “no” be “no”. What or who do you need to say “NO” to today?
Here are 7 reasons why you should say “NO”
1. When we stretch ourselves thin, we’re not helping anyone.
2. You will never please everyone.
3. Practicing your “no” will help clarify your real desires.
4. Saying “no” gives other people the chance to shine.
5. It Helps Guard Your Own Health
6. You will be authentic
7. You will become more confident.
Think of saying no as a practice, an exercise in mindfulness. You might feel a little guilty at first, but if you acknowledge that feeling, address the other person with respect, let it go, and move on, you will be more aware of the wise and loving power of NO.
